I am a homemaker and stay-at-home mom since 2003, before which I worked in the building materials industry. I had been a volunteer in Pearland schools since 2005, was on the Strategic Planning Committee in 2019 and have served as a trustee since 2020.
What motivated you to run for the board of trustees?
When I initially ran in 2020, my motivation was to give back to the district that had served my own sons so well. I also sought to foster a better relationship between the district and the community. Today, I am running because, with our change in leadership, I have seen such an upwelling of support from the community and better and better results each year. I’d like to be a party and a witness to every new achievement PISD attains. Pearland has such an amazing surplus of incredibly special young people and I’d like to see them all reach their best potential. A well educated youth benefits all of society.
If elected, what will be your top priorities for the district over the next three years?
To continue to find and address our weak spots, especially in special education. To maintain a balanced budget in the face of declining enrollment and state rate compression. To continue to advocate for public education and our district specifically at the state level to ensure the sustainability of free, quality education for the youth of Pearland.
What do you think the state should do to support education?
Declining enrollment has ben PISD’s biggest frustration with regard to the budget. I believe that PISD has not suffered as much as they might have due to the voucher program because of their exceptional results, coupled with a supportive relationship with the community who sing our praises better than we can at times. New initiatives such as expanding out of district transfer opportunities will be important, though, because Pearland is largely built out, and as our home values rise, it becomes more difficult to attract young families.
What do you think the state should do to support education?
Increase the daily allotment, cease unfunded mandates, allow for more local control, and require private schools receiving taxpayer money to adhere to the same standards and rules as public schools.
What motivated you to run for the board of trustees?
I wanted to run for the board, because I see a lot of social media, I have experienced this as well, lack of communication between teachers and parents. I have also seen an increase in complaints about bullying without any repercussions to the bully.
If elected, what will be your top priorities for the district over the next three years?
Build bridges between parents and teachers. Eliminate bullying. Everyone should feel safe.
How would you address declining enrollment, and what specific policies or initiatives would you prioritize to attract and retain students?
I would increase visibility to what Pearland ISD has compared to other school districts. I would want students and parents to give me their ideas and make as much happen as possible.
What do you think the state should do to support education?
The state needs to put more money in schools. Take care of their teachers, teachers should not have to come out of pocket for anything. Develop a better system (IE computer/grading system) to where teachers can be ahead of their work and not behind or struggling to stay where …

What motivated you to run for the board of trustees?
I’m running for the board of trustees because I believe we all share a responsibility to serve our community. My motivation comes from a lifelong sense of duty to give back. This role allows me to contribute my experience in a way that strengthens our community, state and nation.
If elected, what will be your top priorities for the district over the next three years?
If elected, my priorities are clear: supporting every student to achieve their full potential, ensuring responsible stewardship of district and taxpayer resources and strengthening campus safety. My experience as an emergency physician, firefighter and emergency management professional guides my commitment to a safe, effective and student-focused district.
How would you address declining enrollment, and what specific policies or initiatives would you prioritize to attract and retain students?
I would address declining enrollment by ensuring Pearland ISD is the most competitive option for families. Parents deserve choice, and our district should shine so brightly that they want their children here. I will prioritize excellence in academics, programs and student support so Pearland ISD becomes every family’s first choice.
What do you think the state should do to support education?
The state should reward excellence while ensuring every district is adequately funded, especially those serving students with educational challenges. Stable funding, strong support for teachers and resources for special education and campus safety are essential. Incentives should drive improvement without neglecting any community.
