Austin Avenue pedestrian bridges
Project: This project will include construction of two pedestrian and bicycle bridges crossing the San Gabriel River in Georgetown, east of the existing Austin Avenue vehicular bridges.
Update: According to city officials, the revised design is tentatively scheduled to be complete in July 2027.
Project: The city of Pflugerville will construct a four-lane roadway with a center median and four roundabout intersections from Moorlynch Avenue to Weiss Lane.
Update: Per city information, the transportation team anticipates 100% final utility designs by May.
Roundabout at Sam Bass Road, Hairy Man Road Intersection
Project: A roundabout will be added to the intersection of Sam Bass and Hairy Man Roads in Round Rock to improve traffic flow and safety.
Update: According to Round Rock city officials, design is 60% complete.
Ongoing projects
Cesar Chavez Street and Red Bluff Road
Project: The project includes safer intersections and lane configurations, protected bicycle lanes, new left-turn lanes, transit access and improved bus stops, and new pedestrian crossings. The city of Austin will extend the Colorado River Trail between Longhorn Dam and Shady Lane.
Update: The city held community meetings in April and is surveying residents on their feedback through May 11.
Project: The city of Hutto is converting select downtown streets into one-way traffic to improve flow and safety, while adding parking. Changes include new parallel parking on East Street.
Update: According to city officials, crews completed the conversion of Main Street into a one-way road going southbound from Live Oak Street to Hwy. 79 on April 2. Crews will next work on Phase 3 of the project, which will convert West Street into a one-way road going northbound. Construction is expected to begin this month.
Completed projects
Project: The city of Austin completed a new shared-use path along the west side of Airport Boulevard between East 51st Street and Middle Fiskville Road.
Update: According to city officials, the project reached completion in early April.
