1. SXSW in full swing

The Interactive and Film festival portions of the conference are underway in downtown Austin. SXSW Music begins Monday and ends March 19. SXSWedu, the education-focused conference that serves as a lead-in to other events, finished last week. 2. Projects on I-35, US 183 could advance

About $416 million has been identified for two projects on I-35 and one along US 183 in Northwest Austin from $2.5 billion projected to come in from Proposition 7 funding. Money could go toward projects on I-35 near Riverside Drive, I-35 between Rundberg Lane and Hwy. 290, and US 183 between MoPac and RM 620. Construction could begin in the next two years. 3. Students on spring break 

Austin, Pflugerville and Round Rock ISDs on are spring break this week. Classes resume March 20.

4. Daylight saving time

Daylight saving time began early Sunday; clocks should have advanced one hour at 2 a.m. The daylight saving time period will run until 2 a.m. Nov. 5, when clocks will have to be turned back one hour. Here are four things to know about daylight saving time. Last month, state Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs, filed a bill that proposed to end Texas' observance of daylight saving time. U.S. states get to choose whether they follow the practice. Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and most of Arizona have opted out.
