What we reported

Christine Celis announced in 2016 that she would open Flemish Fox Brewery and Craftworks at 2013 Rutland Drive, carrying on the legacy of her father, Pierre, who opened Austin’s first craft brewery, Celis Brewery, in 1992. The brewery was later sold to Miller Brewing Co. Flemish Fox will partner with Detroit-based Atwater Brewery, which plans to use the new facility to handle orders from Texas and other customers in the western U.S.

The latest

In late 2016 Flemish Fox Brewery shipped in Pierre’s original equipment from the Hoegaarden Brewery he founded in Belgium. Christine said she plans to restore and display the equipment, and on special occasions she will brew her father’s original Belgian beer recipes.
