GEORGETOWN City Council approved a space-sharing agreement with the Cyber Crime Unit of the Texas Attorney General’s Office for space in the city’s Public Safety Operations and Training Center during the council’s June 9 meeting.
Under the agreement the Cyber Crime Unit would provide computerized forensic case support for police investigations as needed and would train Georgetown Police Department staff on computerized forensic duties, Chief Wayne Nero said.
The Attorney General’s Office will also pay $1,450 a month for janitorial services and electricity usage, Nero said.
The five-year agreement also includes an option to extend the agreement annually for five years.
