Michael Rinker teaches several disciplines of martial arts at his Cypress-area gym, including taekwondo, tai chi, muay thai, jiu jitsu and self-defense. He believes his most important lessons are the life skills that go along with training.
“We’re hoping to build better people,” he said. “The kicking and punching is the icing on the cake.”

Mikhail and Nataliya Goryachev opened Nyam Nyam Cafe last August with the hope of bringing authentic Russian cuisine to Cypress. The eatery’s menu is focused mainly on crepes, a type of pancake that can be customized in an infinite number of ways.
“You can have a crepe for every meal, and they’ll all taste different,” Mikhail said. “As a chef, you can go in any direction.”
