Voter turnout less than 3% in first week of early voting in Williamson County

Less than 3% of the Williamson County voters turned out to the polls in the first week of early voting ahead of the Nov. 5 elections, according to county data.

Williamson County Elections reported about 9,300 people had cast their ballots from Oct. 21-26, which correlates to a 2.7% turnout, the report said. Of the 9,300, about 8,550 voted in person while the remaining 740 voted via mail, limited and provisional ballots, the report said.

Sun City Cowan Creek Amenity Center was the voting location with the highest turnout in the county, with nearly 2,000 votes between Oct. 21-26. Liberty Hill Municipal Court had the lowest turnout, with 225 votes in the same date range.

Early voting began Oct. 21 and continues through Nov. 1. Election Day is Nov. 5. Voters in Williamson County can cast ballots at any polling location in the county. For more on what is on the countywide ballot, click here.
