European-inspired chocolatier Chocolaterie Tessa, which has had a production facility on Burnet Road since 2012, opened a retail location in Domain Northside on Oct. 5. Owner Tessa Halstead said the hope is that instead of just serving as a holiday pop-up, the store will remain in its location after the holidays are over.
“[Domain Northside] been great because for so many people, maybe chocolate isn’t something that they think of to buy, but if they see it [walking by] they’re interested in trying it,” Halstead said.
The store offers the same sweets found at the Burnet Road production facility, including its unique shapes, such as cowboy boots, the state of Texas and seasonal picks of pumpkins and cornucopias.
In addition to its year-round favorite truffles, such as sea-salt caramel and the triangular-shaped mocha tower, Chocolaterie Tessa plans to unveil seasonal flavors, including a mulled wine truffle.
