Early voting totals for the seven Texas counties with the highest numbers of registered voters reached turnout rates more comparable to the 2016 presidential election than the 2014 midterms. Collin County led the six other counties in early voting turnout this year, with 49.4 percent of registered voters casting a ballot either in person or by mail. Tarrant County voters trailed Collin, Travis and Denton counties with 41.49 percent of registered voters casting a ballot. In some instances, counties saw more voters on individual early voting days than the 2016 elections. Such was the case for Harris County on day six of early voting, which saw more than 88,000 voters this year and roughly 76,000 in 2016.
