Fort Bend ISD officials are seeking name suggestions for a new elementary campus to be located in the Aliana community. Construction of the campus is included in the proposed 2018 bond that is up for election Nov. 6. The deadline to submit names is Oct. 23.

Nominations must be completed using an online form. Anyone who makes a nomination must submit a written one- to two-paragraph statement, not to exceed 250 words, containing biographical information or historical data and reasons justifying the suggested name.

Additional criteria states that a nominated name should generally be alluding to a significant person or place. A person nominated should have local or national prominence for making a significant contribution to society. A nominated place should include historical relevance, according to a release from the district.

Once the window to submit nominations has closed, a naming committee will be formed to consider the nominations prior to a recommendation to the board of trustees.
