Bentwood Summer Slam BBQ Cook-Off

Texas Firewalkers hosts its barbecue cookoff event Friday and Saturday. This cookoff is luau-theme and offers cash prizes. Entry fee for the cookoff is $200, and categories include brisket, pork spare ribs, chicken, beans, kids pork chop, margarita and fajita. All proceeds go to the nonprofit organization Texas Firewalkers. $10, age 8 and older. 9 a.m. 8150 E. Hwy. 29. 512-845-9044.


'Behind the Texas Badge' Book Signing

Authors Doug and Carol Hutchison traveled almost 15,000 miles across Texas compiling the stories of Texas law enforcement officers and gathering images of squad cars, badges, shoulder patches and firearms. Officers of the Georgetown Police Department, along with the Round Rock Police Department, Pflugerville Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff's Office and Bastrop Sheriff's Office are featured in the book. Movies in the Parking Lot features 'Moana'

Bring your blankets and chairs to Wolf Ranch Town Center for Movies in the Parking Lot series. The event will feature Disney’s "Moana." Georgetown Police Department will be selling popcorn, cotton candy and cold drinks as a fundraiser for the Georgetown Police Department Explorer Post 152. Free. 8:30 p.m. 1015 W. Bar-Bid-Cue Auction hosted by Georgetown Chamber of Commerce

The 37th annual Bar-Bid-Cue Auction is a fundraiser for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. Tickets include a BBQ dinner with beer and wine. There will be a silent and live auction. $40. 5:30 p.m. Reunion Ranch, 850 CR 255. 512-930-3535.

'Mamma Mia' Sing-Along, Saturday in Round Rock
