Construction is underway on a new apartment community that will have 350 units catered to the tech-heavy workforce in Northwest Austin.

Dubbed Lenox Ridge, the 10-acre site is located on the southeast corner of MoPac and Scofield Ridge Parkway just north of The Domain and adjacent to the Scofield Park at Austin apartments.

Lenox Ridge unit sizes will range from 600 square feet for a one bedroom, one bath unit to 1,380 square feet for a three bedroom, two bath unit. Rent prices are expected to range from $1,100-$2,000.

Because of the site’s proximity to large tech companies—including Apple Inc., Amazon.com Inc., IBM Corp., Oracle Corp. and Paypal Holdings Inc., the complex will have a 1,600-square-foot Community Work Studio that will be similar to shared workspace businesses, such as Link Coworking and WeWork Coworking.

Residents will have access to private and community offices, meeting rooms, Wi-Fi, printers, scanners, an open-floor lounge and a hospitability bar, according to a news release.

Austin-based developer Oden Hughes LLC plans to use the studio to capitalize on the nearly 9 percent of Austin’s working adults who work from home.

“Lenox Ridge will allow young professionals to have the convenient, on-site workspace they need without having to pay more for a larger apartment,” said Howell Beaver, Oden Hughes vice president of development, in a news release. “We think this unique community is a perfect fit for this dynamic area.”

Site clearing work began in early January, and the complex is slated to open in early 2019. Oden Hughes is managing construction, leasing and management of the property.
