A design selection for the Oak Hill Parkway project was delayed from mid-November to 2018 due to a need for more in-depth discussions about funding critical mobility improvements projects, according to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. The project proposes to build a 12-lane highway to relieve traffic at the Y in Oak Hill, or the intersection of Hwy. 290 and Hwy. 71. Two proposed designs differ slightly in elevation and access. The Mobility Authority is also considering a no-build option.
Timeline: Environmental study began in 2012 and is ongoing. Construction is slated to begin in 2020 and will last four-to-five years.
