Pedernales Electric Cooperative plans to distribute close to $8.6 million in capital credits to its members—including those in Cedar Park, Lake Travis, Leander and Westlake area—in the month of December, according to a statement released by the PEC Nov. 15.
“A capital credit distribution is a great benefit and a way for our members to share in the success of the cooperative,” PEC Controller Freddy Wolff said in the statement.
As a member-owned cooperative, PEC does not collect profits, but instead distributes them to members as capital credits when “financial conditions allow,” according to the release.
December bills will reflect the credits, with members who have multiple accounts getting all credits on the bill of one account, according to the statement.
