The city of Frisco will spray for mosquitoes after two more mosquito pools tested positive for the West Nile virus.
A total of 13 Frisco mosquito pools have tested positive for the virus this year, and one
human case has been confirmed in the city.
Spraying will begin Saturday in city-owned areas surrounding the Teel and Panther Creek parkways intersection, as well as an area southeast of Warren Parkway and Legacy Drive.
In both locations, treatment will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday and will continue through 6 a.m. Sunday. Spraying resumes Sunday at 9 p.m. and continues through 6 a.m. Monday.
The city of Frisco supports precautionary steps promoted by the Texas Department of State Health Services, which are commonly referred to as “
The Four D’s”:
- drain all standing water;
- dress in light-colored, long-sleeve clothing when outdoors;
- DEET—use mosquito repellents that contain DEET; and
- dusk or dawn—avoid outdoor activities during these hours when mosquitoes are most active.
