1. WORTH THE TRIP: We Are Blood accepting donations to ease Type O blood shortage
We Are Blood, formerly The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas and the sole provider of blood to Central Texas hospitals, is experiencing a shortage of Type O-negative and -positive blood, a universal blood type that can be transfused to any patient. As a result, We Are Blood urges residents with Type O blood to donate immediately.

2. Police and sheriff’s office partner for self-defense class
Cedar Park Police and Williamson County sheriff’s office offer two sessions of a self-defense class for women. If you cannot make it this weekend, the class will also be held Sept. 1 at the same time and place. Open to women ages 18 and older.

3. HitMaker Music School presents its last summer concert

5. Anderson Mill and Robinson Museum open for visitors
The museum and mill will be open to the public for an ice-cream social, tours and gardening advice from the Anderson Mill Garden Club. The mill is a replica of the Civil War-era Anderson Mill.
