1. Neighborhood restaurant and bar The Back Porch officially opened last Friday
Offering pizzas, flatbreads and burgers, the restaurant is located at 12233 N. RM 620, Ste. 104, Austin. The Back Porch has an outdoor patio with about 40 seats, 22 beers on draft and Cuvee cold-brew coffee on tap, owner Dan Parrott said.
The full menu will be available the week of July 24, and Parrott said he plans to have specials in the coming weeks. Other options include the vegan Vegta Bowl, Shrimp Diana and Hot Cheeto Fries.

2. Jack Allen’s Kitchen opens fourth Austin-area location
The newest spot began dinner service July 15 at 3010 W. Anderson Lane, Austin. Lunch service began July 24, and the restaurant will start brunch service July 30 at 10 a.m. The restaurant serves a menu consisting of Southern-inspired flavors. The new location features an updated bar menu with two wines on tap and the Allandale Spritz cocktail.

3. South Austin favorite Red’s Porch expanded into Northwest Austin
The Southern-Cajun fusion restaurant opened its second location location July 11 at 4200B Braker Lane, Austin. The restaurant overlooks Quarry Lake and has outdoor games. Red’s has 36 beers on tap and serves entrees, such as po’boys, burgers and tacos.
An interior wall is adorned with board games, a nod to games featured at the original location on South Lamar Boulevard. The Quarry restaurant also will have outdoor games, such as cornhole and giant Jenga.

Healthy eats soon available at Honest Mary's in Northwest Austin[/caption]
4. Upcoming restaurant to offer local, organic dishes
Opening in late summer, restaurant Honest Mary’s will focus on healthy grain bowls and other items made with organic and local ingredients and free of genetically modified oils and refined sugar. Owner Nelson Monteith named the restaurant after his wife, Mary, and the restaurant’s use of honest ingredients, such as local and organic products.
Honest Mary’s will also have housemade agua frescas, yaupon iced tea, local kombucha, local beer and organic wine on tap. The restaurant will be located at 9828 Great Hills Trail, Ste. 300, Austin, near the Arboretum.
