1. Texas Legislature's special session begins Tuesday


The 85th Texas Legislature will begin its first special session Tuesday. Gov. Greg Abbott has 19 legislative items he is asking lawmakers to consider, including school finance reform, school choice for special needs students, construction fees and property taxes.

2. Frisco ISD to host transportation job fair Wednesday


The Frisco ISD transportation department will host a job fair on Wednesday to recruit and hire bus drivers, bus monitors and crossing guards for the 2017-18 school year.

According to the district, FISD is short approximately 30 bus drivers for regular and special education bus routes.

Prospective employees can apply and interview onsite during the job fair. The event will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m. at Frisco ISD Transportation West, 10701 Dallas Parkway, Frisco.

3. Frisco Economic Development Corp. to meet


The Frisco Economic Development Corp. will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 6801 Gaylord Parkway, Ste. 400. The FEDC board will receive several reports, such as a 25-year project executive summary of the FEDC and an update on the engineering services for Frisco Park 25.

The board will also consider and act upon real estate contracts, marketing agreements and incentives.

4. Dive-In Movie features Zootopia




Families can float in the pool or the lazy river while watching “Zootopia” at the Frisco Water Park at the Frisco Athletic Center, 5828 Nancy Jane Lane, Frisco. Gates open at 8 p.m.; the movie starts at sunset. Tickets are $10 per person; children under 2 are free, but still must have a ticket. www.friscofun.org.
