Williamson County officials hope to collect public input and share information with residents on its US 183 project at an open house scheduled to take place Thursday.

Work on US 183 would improve travel from north to south and vice-versa. According to a county news release, based on projected population growth, the project will be necessary in order to keep up with the needs of Williamson County residents. The study is one of several corridor studies the county is working on as part of the Williamson County Long-Range Transportation Plan, which aims to create a network of roadways to increase access and safety all over the county.

The county’s plan for US 183, also known as Corridor F, spans from Hwy. 29 to the Williamson County line. The project could potentially include two connectors from US 183 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard, which is located north of FM 3405, and from SH 138 eastbound.

The open house is from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the gym at Grace Alive Church, 16030 Hwy. 29, Liberty Hill. Held in an open house format, attendees are welcome to come and go during that time as they please and to share input with county officials. However, no alignment information will be shown at the meeting.

Input from Williamson County residents is encouraged at any time. To be included in the first round of open house summary reports, the county must receive comments by mail, email or phone by July 27. Comments received after July 27 will be included in following reports. For more information on how to submit comments, click here.
