Nestled on several acres tucked away near the intersection of highways 121 and 114 and I-635 in Grapevine is a venue that provides a simple but elegant place where couples can celebrate starting their life together.

The Laurel features a great hall, a chapel and an outdoor green space as well as individual suites.

Since its opening in 2015, General Manager Shannon Lepard said the venue has been so popular that Saturdays are typically sold out for an entire year.

“We sell out of [Saturdays] pretty quickly,” she said. “We’re sold out through early spring next year for Saturdays.”

All reception rentals, which range from $5,500-$9,500, provide the wedding party with day-of coordination by an on-site certified wedding planner; setup and tear-down of the included tables, chairs and linens; valet charges; security provided by off-duty police; equipment for DJs and bands; and the ability to use the property for engagement photos and bridal portraits at no additional cost.

Ceremony rental is separate and includes the use of either the chapel or the outdoor space for a one-hour rehearsal the day before and the coordination of the ceremony—if the wedding party needs that service. The chapel itself has no religious iconography, including crosses, permanently installed. Lepard said she and the owners do not want anyone to feel unwelcome in the space. However, wedding parties are able to add any decorations they want to the chapel and the great hall.

Lepard and the owners of The Laurel love serving their guests and seeing each wedding through the entire process, she said.

“[Planning] weddings is really tough,” Lepard said. “And if you don’t love it, if you don’t have the passion for it, it can run you over. … But staying to the end and seeing that happiness on the bride and groom’s face, on the family, getting that hug at the end was the reason I did it.”
