The Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission approved a replat Tuesday to divide one lot into two within the Shaddock Creek Estate development along Legacy Drive—as well as convey one lot to the city of Frisco.

After development began on the Shaddock Creek Estate, the city entered into an agreement with the developer to purchase a portion of the subdivision’s homeowners association lot for a future park.

The HOA for Shaddock Creek had been carrying out maintenance for that specific area, which is about 4.2 acres of land located on the west side of Legacy Drive and about 680 feet south of Wyndham Lane. Because the lot will now be conveyed to the city, the city will be responsible for maintaining the land.

Kyle LaFerney, Frisco park planning and capital projects superintendent, said the city will work on a resolution  with the HOA regarding maintenance of the land.

LaFerney also said the land is part of the hike-and-bike master plan, and there is potential for a trail to run through the park.
