Frisco City Council approved two ordinances authorizing the sale of general obligation bonds that total $64.5 million that would go toward city improvements.

The first ordinance totals $49 million with $25 million going toward road infrastructure, $12 million for the fire department and public safety facilities and equipment, and $12 million for park land acquisition and infrastructure improvements.

“It’s important for our citizens to know that these are [items] they have already approved and voted on back in the bond election [in 2015]," Council Member Shona Huffman said during the meeting. “These are things they said they wanted; they wanted to prioritize fire, public safety and road infrastructure.”

The second ordinance approved totals $15.5 million and it will go toward water and sewer infrastructure improvements.

The city will be taking bids beginning on June 13 for the city improvements.
