Frisco ISD board of trustees to set tax rate 


The board will vote tonight to set the district's tax rate for the 2017-18 school year. The district is proposing a tax rate of $1.46 per $100 valuation, which is the same tax rate the district has had since 2012. The proposed interest and sinking rate would be $0.42 and the proposed maintenance and operations rate would be $1.04.

The meeting begins at 5 p.m. at the FISD Administration Building, 5515 Ohio Drive.

Town hall meeting scheduled for tonight


The city will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.

Frisco City Council and city staff will make a presentation about density and traffic issues before opening the floor to questions from the audience.

Residents who cannot attend the meeting in person can listen to the meeting via phone. All registered Frisco voters will receive a call Monday night inviting them to listen to the meeting and ask questions over the phone.

The town hall will also be streamed on Facebook Live for the first time. Go to the city's Facebook page to view the live feed and post questions on the thread.

Nightly lane closures on Dallas North Tollway continue this week


Closures are expected Monday through Wednesday on the Dallas North Tollway near the Sam Rayburn Tollway and Parker Road. All closures are contingent on weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary.

Northbound DNT to northeast- and southwest-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway direct connector ramps will close nightly from 10 p.m.-5 a.m.

Motorists are advised to exit at Headquarters Drive/SH 121 and continue north to SH 121 where they will turn east or west. Motorists will then continue on the frontage road to enter the SRT.

City to sell bonds for roads, public safety facilities and parks


Frisco City Council will meet Tuesday to discuss selling general obligation bonds to go toward improving roadways, building new and improving public safety facilities and buying park land. City staff is recommending issuing $49 million in bonds.

The bonds are part of a $268 million bond package approved by voters in 2015.
