Texas Hill Country Olive Co. is extending its regular tour hours for Memorial Day weekend. Tours are 45 minutes to an hour and take visitors through the orchard and mill. The on-site bistro offers specials following the tour. Free tastings for olive oils and balsamics are also be available. Cost is $6 per person.

Art After Six
The Austin Cultural Arts Division is hosting its Art After Six lecture once a month that explores specific themes via panel discussions with artists from the exhibition. This month’s exhibit, "Painting as Process," takes a look at the varied processes that painters employ to develop their work, from rituals or systems they use to preparation of materials. Hollyanna Melear, Chun Hui Pak and Stephanie Sandoval are the evening's speakers. Following the discussion, visitors have the opportunity to tour the People’s Gallery for a special off-hours viewing. The event is free. No RSVP is necessary.

World War II re-enactment
Camp Mabry is hosting its 11th annual re-enactment over the Memorial Day weekend to honor the service and sacrifice of America's veterans and focus on the history of the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard during World War II. The program features members of the Texas Military Forces Living History Detachment exhibiting the uniform and equipment worn by the American soldier in the European Theater of the second World War as well as those of his German opponent. Visitors are able to see everything from tents, radio equipment, GI baseball gloves and mess kits to operational vehicles, such as an M4 Sherman tank, M3 halftrack, German Hetzer tank destroyer and Jeeps. The event is free and open to the public.
