McKinney City Council, McKinney ISD election results McKinney City Council and McKinney ISD elections were held Saturday and the unofficial results are in. In case you missed it, city council will have a runoff election for District 1, District 3 and the At Large seat. Here’s a recap on who’s running for what district. Saturday’s election also resulted in George Fuller becoming the McKinney’s next mayor after winning 58.65 percent of the vote. In MISD news, incumbents Maria McKinzie, Kathi Livezey and Curtis Rippee will continue serving on the board. Kenneth Ussery will be the newest board member after winning Place 2 with 70.57 percent of the vote. Collin College bond passes Collin College also had a $600 million bond on Saturday’s ballot. After all voting centers reported, the unofficial results showed that voters in Collin County voted in favor of the bond. Economic Development Week The McKinney Economic Development Corp. is celebrating Economic Development Week May 8-12 in conjunction with the organization's 91st anniversary. The week’s events include a virtual campaign on Twitter in which the MEDC will go behind the scenes of a pre-submittal conference for an industrial request for proposals. This will allow the community to better understand the RFP process. Those interested can follow along on Twitter with the hashtag #SeeMcKinneyWithMe. On Wednesday, the mayor will also issue a proclamation. This event will be held in from the McKinney Convention & Visitor Bureau, 200 W.
