As Super Bowl LI weekend approaches and out-of-towners are in search of a place to stay, Houstonians inside and outside Loop 610 have turned to
Airbnb to list their homes or apartments as a convenient alternative to staying in a hotel.
Residents who list their spaces on Airbnb could make a pretty penny depending on proximity to NRG Stadium.

How to list your home on Airbnb:
- Make sure your city, subdivision or neighborhood allows homes to be listed on Airbnb. This could result in a fine depending on regulations in place.
- If your space can be listed, visit AirBnB.com, click “Become a Host” and select “Host your extra space.”
- Sign up by creating a profile and setting a price for your house or apartment.
- Wait for guests to find and book your listing.
Tips for becoming an Airbnb host:
- Hosts can make more money by listing an entire home as a rental instead of just one or two rooms.
- Hosts can be as hands-on or hands-off as they choose when it comes to interacting with guests.
- Basic hosting duties include cleaning all spaces designated for guests, and providing clean sheets and towels and toilet paper.
- Airbnb handles all payments through the site, and guests are charged before they arrive. Hosts can receive payments through Paypal, direct deposit and international money wiring. Airbnb receives a 3 percent host service fee for each reservation.
