Tuesday: Frisco City Council to call for February special election

Council will vote on calling a special election for Feb. 18 to fill the Place 1 seat. Council Member Bob Allen will vacate that seat after the election since he is running for mayor of Frisco. Filing for the election would begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday and end at 5 p.m. Dec. 2. Early voting would take place Feb. 1-14, and the polling locations would be at fire stations 4, 7 and 8 and the Collin College Preston Ridge campus. Along with Allen, former Council Member Jeff Cheney is also running for mayor. The current Frisco mayor is term limited and cannot run again next year.
