Fort Bend County Commissioner, Precinct 1
Democrat
Richard Morrison is running for re-election against Republican challenger,
Vincent Morales, in the Fort Bend County Commissioner, Precinct 1 race. Morales has served two terms as mayor of Rosenberg, and Morrison was elected as commissioner in 2008. The candidates answered questions in our election guide

U.S. House District 22

Pete Olson, R-Sugar Land, faces Democratic challenger

Olson is running for his fifth term in office while Gibson, an attorney and small-business owner, is running for his first term. Olson
outspent Gibson and received more contributions according to Oct. 15 campaign finance reports.
Texas Senate District 18
Incumbent
Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, faces Libertarian Kathie L. Stone for the Texas State Senate District 18 seat. Kolkhorst is running for her second term. She has received and spent more donations than Stone, according to
Oct. 15 campaign finance reports.
Texas House District 26
Incumbent
Rick Miller, R-Sugar Land, faces Democratic challenger

Miller is running for his third term in office while DeMerchant, an information technology advisor, is running for her first term.
Texas House District 85

Fort Bend County Sheriff

Michael Ellison in the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s race. In a

Nehls is running for his second term as sheriff while Ellison, who has worked in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, is running for his first term. Oct. 15 campaign finance reports showed Ellison had
