Here’s a look at some of the recent news affecting Georgetown this week, Nov. 7-11.
1. Election Day is Tuesday.
The polls are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m., and voters in Williamson County may vote at any polling location in the county. For a list of polling locations,

Georgetown residents can vote in several races, including Williamson County Precinct 3 commissioner. For a full list of what is on the ballot for Georgetown voters,

Williamson County Commissioners Court will meet Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 9:30 a.m. To see the meeting’s agenda,
click here. Items up for discussion including road bond funding, a water leak at the jail, and the Williamson County Expo Center.

Georgetown City Council will meet Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. for its regular meeting.
The agenda includes several items, including public hearings and the first reading of two ordinances to rezone about 83.5 acres at Fairway Lane and Shell Road to single-family residential and local commercial, and about 75.4 acres at 2101 Airport Road from general commercial to industrial.

The council will host its workshop session at 3 p.m. Tuesday. During the workshop, city staff members present updates on city policies, plans and other presentations of city activities.
Tuesday City Council will hear presentations on several issues, including the Garey Park construction bidding process, legislative priorities for the upcoming 85th Legislative Session and the city’s solid waste contracts.

4. The city of Georgetown and the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will host a design charrette Nov. 12-16 as part of the
Williams Drive Study.
The charrette will allow participants to voice issues and concerns with the corridor and help identify solutions. The meetings will be held in the Georgetown Health Foundation Community Rooms at 2423 Williams Drive, Ste. 101.
