Changes to a performance agreement between the Georgetown Economic Development Corp. board and Georgetown ISD will allow the district to purchase equipment for its new aerospace engineering program.
City Council approved amending the agreement at its Aug. 9 meeting.
The city had initially approved the agreement, which provided a grant to the district through the EDC to purchase equipment for engineering labs at Georgetown and East View high schools, in September 2012.
The equipment is used to provide training and certification to students for high-wage jobs.
