The city of Georgetown is continuing street
resurfacing work throughout town.
Recent weather and lack of materials has caused some work to be delayed.
The anticipated schedule is as follows:
Sun City and Williams Drive repaving
- Aug. 26, 29-30: Apply asphalt paving on Texas Drive from Del Webb Boulevard to Sun City Boulevard
- Aug. 31-Sept. 2: Apply asphalt paving on Williams Drive from River Bend Drive to Lakeway Drive
- Sept. 6-9: Apply asphalt paving on Whispering Wind from Del Webb Boulevard to Enchanted Drive
The application of polymer-based sealant on Cool Spring Way, Sun City Boulevard and Pedernales Falls Drive is expected to be completed on Friday, Aug. 26.
The city is remarking all golf and pedestrian crossings in Sun City to help promote safety, according to a news release. The contractor will begin covering old markings with a polymer-based sealant today and Monday, Aug. 29. The markings will be replaced Sept. 6-9.
Old Town
- Aug. 26, 29-31: Apply chip seal on Southwestern Boulevard from University Avenue to Sam Houston Avenue
- Sept. 1-2: Apply sealant on Pine and Walnut streets and cross streets in Old Town
- Sept. 6: Apply sealant on Southwestern Boulevard from University Avenue to Sam Houston Avenue
According to a city news release, the work schedule can be affected by weather conditions, mechanical issues and product availability.
