Recent rains have delayed the city of Georgetown's street resurfacing projects, including repaving on Williams Drive as well as road work in Sun City and Old Town.

According to a news release from the city, the street resurfacing schedule can be affected by weather conditions, mechanical issues and product availability.

Work is expected to resume next week. The anticipated schedule is as follows:

Williams Drive, Sun City



  • Friday, Aug. 19-Saturday, Aug. 20: Apply polymer-based sealant to Cool Spring Way and Sun City Boulevard from Cool Spring Way to Ronald Reagan Boulevard

  • Monday, Aug. 22-Thursday, Aug. 26: Asphalt paving on Williams Drive from River Bend to Lakeway drives

  • Monday, Aug. 22-Thursday, Aug. 26: Apply polymer-based sealant to Cool Spring Way, Sun City Boulevard and Pedernales Falls Drive

  • Monday, Aug. 29-Thursday, Sept. 8: Milling and asphalt paving on Texas Drive from Del Webb Boulevard to Sun City Boulevard and Whispering Wind from Del Webb Boulevard to Enchanted Drive


Southwestern Boulevard



  • Friday, Aug. 19: Chip seal on Pine Street north of University Avenue

  • Monday, Aug. 22-Thursday, Aug. 26: Chip seal on Walnut Street north of University Avenue as well as on Haven Lane and Southwestern Boulevard

  • Monday, Aug. 29-Tuesday, Sept. 2: Sealant on Walnut and Pine streets north of University Avenue, plus cross streets, Haven Lane and Southwestern Boulevard
