At a July 11 special-called board meeting for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD staff gave updates on the progress of the $249 million bond package that was approved by voters in May.
One of the bond’s biggest items was the $33.6 million dedicated to rebuilding Cannon Elementary School, which was built in 1959. Officials said they are in the design phase and expect to present a final design to the board of trustees in December.
An update was also given on the bond’s two multipurpose activity centers, which will be built at Grapevine High School and Colleyville Heritage High School. Officials said they are looking at property sites and plan to have the facilities open in January 2018.
The centers will be used for extracurricular activities.
