“We’ve always been intrigued with the Burnet [Road] corridor and how everything was blossoming there,” co-owner Jeff Van Delden.
Jeff, brother Darren Van Delden and their cousin Adam Karam own Union Venture Group, which has launched Jack & Ginger’s Irish Pub; upscale wine bar St. Genevieve; 77 Degrees Rooftop rum bar; and dance club The Rose Room in the new Rock Rose district of Domain Northside.
“The Park is more sports-bar heavy, and [the new venue] will be more casual,” Jeff said, adding the restaurant and bar will be family-friendly in daytime hours.
The trio brought in Leo Valarde—a fourth operating partner from UVG's Maverick's country bar in Pflugerville—to open the new venue, he said. The establishment does not yet have a name but will be opening in the fall and serve homemade food. The operating partners are also still working on the menu.
Jeff said renovations are already underway to update the facility to current code requirements as well as create a patio space.

Briarwood Detox Center will open Aug. 18 at 11711 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin. The one-acre, 15-bed facility assists patients to become stabilized before entering a rehabilitation program for drug or alcohol addiction.
Briarwood will provide 24/7 medical services and will accept private pay and out-of-network insurance coverage. Its parent company, Sprout Health Group, is based in New Jersey.
“Unlike most detox facilities, Briarwood is a very special environment because it’s more like a nature preserve,” Marketing Consultant Marsha Robinson said. “It’s a very relaxing, nurturing and healing environment.”
