Transportation Updates

 

1. Gaylord and John Hickman parkways

Construction is nearly complete to extend Gaylord and John Hickman parkways within The Star in Frisco development. Both roadways will be four lanes wide and include new traffic signals, stop signs and a roundabout. The Star is expected to open its first phase of development with the Dallas Cowboys’ world headquarters and The Ford Center by this August.

2. CR 26 construction

Construction to build CR 26 is on hold until more development is underway near the future roadway. The road will be six lanes wide and connect Rockhill Parkway and US 380.

3. US 380 widening

Construction to widen US 380 to six lanes is expected to be complete by December. A portion of the project spans from Lovers Lane to Custer Road. A median is being added as part of the widening project.

Another portion of the project—from Lovers Lane to CR 26—is also under construction to widen the highway to six lanes. Construction is about 10 percent complete.

A third portion of the project is still under design to widen the road from CR 26 to Loop 288.

4. Dallas Parkway

The northbound and southbound frontage roads of the Dallas North Tollway will be widened with an additional lane from SH 121 to Eldorado Parkway. The portion of the roadway from SH 121 to Lebanon Road is under construction. This portion also includes intersection improvements at Warren Parkway and Lebanon Road. The other portion of the project from Lebanon Road to Eldorado Parkway is in the design process.

5. Coit Road extension

A project is in the design process to extend Coit Road from Rockhill Parkway to US 380. Construction is expected to begin by fall 2017. The extension will be a four-lane divided roadway. Another portion of Coit Road is being extended from Panther Creek to Rockhill parkways. That project is expected to be complete by early 2017.

6. Teel Parkway extension

Construction is nearly complete to extend Teel Parkway from Stafford Middle School to Rockhill Parkway. The new extension will be a two-lane roadway with a bridge. Construction is expected to be complete by July.

7. FM 423

FM 423 Construction is now more than 50 percent complete to widen FM 423 to six lanes.[/caption]

Construction is now more than 50 percent complete to widen FM 423 to six lanes. The project extends from The Colony to Frisco. The Frisco portion of the project stretches from Eldorado Parkway to US 380.
