In May, Austin Water will finish upgrading wastewater lines in the Barrington Oaks neighborhood to improve capacity. The work affects Danwood Drive from Kapok Lane to Barrington Way and Barrington from Danwood to Pilgrims Place.

2. MoPac frontage roads repaving


The Texas Department of Transportation will resurface the MoPac frontage roads from Parmer Lane to Waters Park Road.

3. US 183 frontage road resurfacing


TxDOT will resurface the frontage roads of US 183 from Anderson Mill Road to Spicewood Springs Road/McNeil Drive.
Timeline: anticipated early June-August
Cost: $1.5 million

4. I-35 repaving


TxDOT will resurface the I-35 main lanes from Wells Branch Parkway to Rundberg Lane. The project will be bid in November.

5. MoPac express lane construction


On March 30, contractor CH2M confirmed the MoPac construction between RM 2222 and Parmer Lane is on track to open by June 8. Workers are continuing to construct the shared-use path and sidewalks near Duval Road and work on the underpasses near downtown.

The 183 South project between Hwy. 290 and SH 71 broke ground April 6. The project will include six tolled lanes, six nontolled lanes, a new pedestrian bridge near Springdale and Manor roads, and other bicycle and pedestrian improvements. The historic Montopolis Bridge will be decommissioned to vehicular traffic and repurposed for bike and pedestrian use.

An effort to implement a permanent discount for semitrailers on SH 130 failed in the previous legislative session, but the governing board for the Texas Department of Transportation approved another temporary discount March 31. The Texas Transportation Commission approved discounting toll rates for semitrailers that use SH 130 between Georgetown and SH 45 SE as well as on SH 45 SE, which connects I-35 and SH 130. The project is expected to provide some congestion relief on I-35.
