The chalk illustrations and signatures are not the only art inside Wrap & Roll. The Pearland restaurant prides itself on creating Asian cuisine with a twist through what Manager Jaycob Cavazos calls the “art of fusion.”
“We take so many different foods that most people wouldn’t consider would go well together and try to mesh them together in order to create a new taste and new experience,” he said.
Wrap & Roll features blended options, such as fusion burritos, quesadillas and wraps that combine American, Asian, French and Mexican flavors. The eatery also offers traditional Asian dishes, including vermicelli, fried rice and spring rolls.
One of the restaurant’s most popular items is the Wrap & Roll Fries, which are topped with melted cheddar cheese, ribeye steak, filet mignon, sweet chili and spicy mayo.
Almost the entire Wrap & Roll menu is gluten-free, Cavazos said. He said the restaurant uses potato flour and vegetable-based oils to please all customers.
“We try to accommodate different types of food palates,” Cavazos said. “A lot of restaurants out here aren’t able to accommodate most people with gluten or peanut allergies. We focus our menu on being able to provide the most healthy food we can while also abiding by those common food allergies.”
Anh Vu—who also owns Pho Anh Asian Bistro in Pearland—opened Wrap & Roll in summer 2013. Vu is also a partner in two other restaurant ventures but can still be found in the Wrap & Roll kitchen daily.
“He’s there every single day making sure every single dish is prepared fresh and ready for all customers,” Cavazos said. “He makes sure that he can accommodate any kind of [diet].”
