Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake, which opened in 2004 as Southlake’s first hospital, broke ground on its expansion in September. The 5,300-square-foot addition will be connected to the existing 46,300 square foot hospital and will include six observation beds and the conversion of an underutilized procedure room into an inpatient bed. Construction is underway, and anticipated completion is during the first quarter of 2016.

Southlake’s second hotel, Cambria, will open Sept. 1 in Kimball Park, a new mixed-use commercial development located off of Kimball Avenue in Southlake. The 15.5-acre development will have a 175-room Cambria, Class A offices, three restaurants and retail space when completed. The developer said ground will be broken on the offices in March.

Developer Granite Properties is building a seven-story office project in Southlake Town Square in Southlake. Expected to be complete in October, the 160,733-square-foot building will be the largest and first office building at the Square.

In January 2015, Sam Pack, owner of Five Star Ford, announced his company bought 8 acres along William D. Tate Avenue at Stone Myers Parkway in Grapevine to open a Subaru dealership. Construction on the 44,848-square-foot showroom and service building is expected to be complete later this year.

In Colleyville, construction on Phase 1 of Heritage Farms, a 321,000-square-foot, mixed-use senior housing development, is expected to begin this year. The 19.8-acre campus will be located at the corner of Wayne Drive and Cheek Sparger Road. The facility will include a 74-bed assisted-living facility and a 45-bed memory-care facility as well as 162 independent-living residences. Phase 1 will include the construction of the medical and administrative facility and the assisted living and memory-care facilities. Phase 2 will include the independent residences.

Colleyville’s first hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites, is under construction. The five-story hotel will be built along SH 121, just north of La Hacienda Ranch, and have 91 guest rooms, 500 square feet of meeting space as well as a swimming pool and other amenities. The hotel is expected to open later this year.

Kubota Tractor Corp. is relocating its headquarters from California to Grapevine. The company broke ground on its new headquarters in October. The headquarters will include a three-story office building and a research and development facility. The facility is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2017.

In June crews broke ground on the new Grapevine Public Safety Building at 1007 Ira E. Woods Ave. It will house the police and fire department administrations. The municipal court and the city’s logistics and information technology department will also be housed in the facility. The building is slated to open in spring 2017.
