Council postpones rezoning request for developmentGeorgetown City Council voted Nov. 24 to postpone a rezoning request for a 25-acre lot at 650 FM 971 near San Gabriel Park.

Developers had requested the zoning be changed from agriculture to low-density multifamily to build single-family detached condos.

Several individuals from nearby neighborhoods protested the rezoning during the meeting. Many residents said they would rather the area be rezoned as single-family residential.

The council could reconsider the request at its Jan. 26 meeting.
