Following increased rainfall, the burn ban that was scheduled to end Nov. 18 ended Oct. 26, according to the Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office, which lifted the ban according to a news release.
The Travis County Commissioners Court had unanimously voted Oct. 20 to reinstate a ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of the county following a Bastrop County disaster declaration issued because of the
Hidden Pines Fire.
The Oct. 26 decision means residents can conduct outdoor burning after contacting the local fire department for permission or a permit before burning outdoors, according to an Oct. 26 news release.
