Co-owners Amy Hogan and Reena Kaven envisioned opening more than just a yoga studio with Studio Mantra.
Both women live in the Great Hills neighborhood and met through their children. They had each owned their own business and wanted to combine their strengths.
The business offers classes in yoga, Pilates and barre, which incorporates ballet. It also has signature classes such as Mantra Fit, which Hogan said is like a boot camp, and Mantra Sculpt, which incorporates weights with yoga.
Studio Mantra also offers a variety of massages, including sports and deep-tissue, as well as acupuncture.
“We wanted to combine all of these things into a wellness center,” Kaven said.
Classes include a Yoga 101 workshop, Mantra Tots for mothers and children ages 18 months to 5 years, teen yoga and family yoga. Businesses can sign up for Mantra in the Workplace to have instructors teach a class or offer chair massages.
“We wanted a place where people can come and work out at whatever level but not be bored,” Hogan said.
Studio Mantra also hosts workshops and events on various topics. Upcoming workshops include cancer healing on Oct. 25 and gratitude on Nov. 21.
