“One slice of our pizza is a meal compared to other pizzerias where customers need two or more slices [to be full],” co-owner Vicente Jaramillo said.
Pizzas come in 14-or 18-inch pies, and 12-inch gluten-free options are also available. Besides pizza, Al Capriccio offers sandwiches, salad, chicken and a wide variety of appetizers. However, pizza is the customers’ favorite, Cortez said. The restaurant offers dine-in seating as well as pickup and delivery within a 5-mile radius.
The pizzeria’s food truck is located in Austin during weekly lunch hours and serves large slices with 20 different topping options as well as salads, Jaramillo said. Pizza from the food truck is also offered at local festivals and school events, Cortez and Jaramillo said.
Cortez said the pizzeria donates 10 percent of the proceeds to schools that host events.
Customer favorites include the Pizza Brava, which is made with ingredients such as pepperoni, Italian sausage, black olives, Canadian bacon and mushrooms. The Pizza Bianca, another customer favorite, is made with spinach, Canadian bacon, grilled chicken, crispy bacon and fresh garlic, and it is topped with creamy ricotta cheese and bianca sauce.
Customer Tony Figueroa and his colleague, Kory Barnett, said they have been eating at the pizzeria up to four times a week since it opened two years ago.
Another regular customer is Tyler Bennington from Round Rock. He said he eats at Al Capriccio several times a month and also takes his family there regularly.
“They have really good-quality food and good customer service,” Bennington said. “I have never had anything [here] that I didn’t like.”
Large slices
Lunch specials are offered Tue.-Fri. from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Customers can choose from 17 house-specialty pizzas and three different types of calzones or make their own pizzas. Vegan and gluten-free pizzas are also available. The menu also offers appetizers, salads, hot subs, grilled paninis, chicken wings, chicken tenders and desserts.
