1. The Grand Parkway segments F-1, F-2 and G

Construction of the Grand Parkway is requiring several lane closures and traffic diversions on a number of roads near the project. Three segments—F-1, F-2 and G—of the project are under simultaneous construction and will total 37 miles of Houston’s third outer loop. The segments stretch from Hwy. 290 to Hwy. 59 and feature major overpasses and interchanges at Hwy. 290 in Cypress, Hwy. 249 in Tomball and I-45. The Grand Parkway Segment F-2 lane closures Ongoing work requires total northbound and southbound closures of Rocky Road between Boudreaux Estates Drive to Boudreaux Road until 4 p.m. Oct. 8. Drivers are encouraged to follow detour signage. Ongoing work requires a northbound auxiliary turn-lane closure of Stuebner Airline Road at FM 2920 closure from 7 a.m. Oct. 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. Ongoing work requires a left-lane southbound closure of Hwy. 249 from Holderrieth Road to Boudreaux Estates Drive daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

2. Honea Egypt Road widening

The project is designed to widen Honea Egypt Road in Magnolia from two to four lanes with an additional continuous center-turn lane from the intersection of FM 2978 and FM 1488 to the intersection of Ranch Lake and Sendera Ranch drives. The project, which is 40 percent complete, was delayed due to the construction of the San Jacinto River Authority water pipelines. 3. Medical Complex Drive extension

The city of Tomball is in the process of relocating utilities and working on the remainder of the extension to Agg Road at South Cherry Street. A future segment between South Persimmon Street and Hufsmith-Kohrville Road will have funding allocated next fiscal year, and the city will begin design at that time. Timeline: summer 2013-late 2015 (portion from School Street to Agg Road at South Cherry Street), TBA (future portion from South Persimmon Street to Hufsmith-Kohrville Road) Cost: $5.88 million Funding sources: city of Tomball

4. FM 1488 overpass at FM 149

Louisiana-based contractor James Construction Group began work in March on the project. The overpass has encountered delays due to a relocation of utilities, TxDOT officials said. The overpass will feature two sets of cloverleaf access ramps, including one on either side of FM 1488 near Magnolia High School and another across the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad at FM 149. The road will be widened from one lane in each direction to four lanes total with a 16-foot turn lane in the median along FM 1488 from the Mostyn Manor subdivision to Mill Creek Road. 5. FM 149 improvements

The three-location project includes pavement widening and marking as well as the relocation of an existing traffic signal at FM 149 and FM 1488. 6. Hufsmith-Kohrville Road  Segment 6 widening

The project is designed to widen the road from two to four lanes from Willow Creek Estates Lane to FM 2920. Segment 1 of the project, which spans from just south of Spring Cypress Road to Hollow Glen Lane, is scheduled for completion by Feb. 15.
