Frisco City Council approved tax incentives for three upcoming Wal-Mart stores during the Sept. 15 meeting. Each of the stores will receive half of the city’s 1 percent sales tax generated by each store for 10 years. The total incentive for each store can go up to $2.5 million. In return, each store must be 180,000 square feet and be completed by March 31, 2018. The three stores will be located at FM 423 and US 380; Stonebrook Parkway and FM 423; and SH 121 and Custer Road. Similar incentives were given to Target near Stonebriar Centre and another Wal-Mart on FM 423 and Eldorado Parkway, according to Council documents.
