FC Dallas is looking to house the National Soccer Hall of Fame at Toyota Stadium pending Frisco City Council’s approval. City Council will vote on the amended lease agreement during the Sept. 15 council meeting. FC Dallas, the soccer club that leases Toyota Stadium from the city of Frisco, has submitted an amended lease agreement to the city asking to make improvements to the stadium. The improvements would make room for the hall of fame as well as meet the need of the NCAA FCS Championship Football game and Frisco ISD. If approved, the lease agreement would allow the hall of fame to remain in Toyota Stadium until the end of 2037. The stadium improvements are expected to cost $39 million, and, if approved, construction is scheduled to start no later than May 31, 2016. FC Dallas would pay additional rent to fund the improvements. Anything more than the $39 million will be FC Dallas' responsibility, according to the proposed amended lease. The National Soccer Hall of Fame has been without a physical home since 2010. In October 2014, the U.S. Soccer Federation began looking at Frisco as the future home of the hall of fame.
