At the Sept. 1 pre council meeting, Colleyville City Council selected Oct. 14 for the public open house at which residents can view draft highlights and provide feedback on the upcoming comprehensive plan named Destination Colleyville. Destination Colleyville will feature a range of topics including: future land use, a thoroughfare plan, infrastructure needs, housing and neighborhood integrity, plans for transitional and undeveloped areas, Colleyville Boulevard and strategies for development in key areas throughout the city. Mayor David Kelly said the city staff plans to have the comprehensive plan adopted before Christmas and has tentatively scheduled Nov. 17 as the first city council public hearing. The plan must first go before the Planning and Zoning Commission before it proceeds to the City Council for a first and second reading.
