Frisco City Council approved establishing new school traffic zones during its Aug. 4 meeting.
The new zones will accommodate the four new Frisco ISD schools opening this year. When active, the school zones will have a 20 mph speed limit.
Some existing FISD schools modified and/or added school traffic zones because of roadway and neighborhood development.
The following schools have new school traffic zones:
- Pearson Middle School
- Frisco High School
- Pioneer Heritage Middle School
- Norris Elementary School
- Nelson Middle School
- Reedy High School
- Trent Middle School
The following schools have modified school traffic zones:
- Bledsoe Elementary
- Frisco High School
- Gunstream Elementary School
- Wester Middle School
- Centennial High School
- McSpedden Elementary School
- Vandeventer Middle School
- Leadership Prep School
- Nichols Elementary School
- Heritage High School
- Independence High School
Pioneer Heritage Middle School also removed a school traffic zone on Stonebrook Parkway at Lone Star Ranch Parkway because of school district rezoning.

By approving the new school traffic zones, Council also allowed the city’s director of engineering services to enforce school traffic zones to be active during special time periods, such as during summer school.
