Brendon Payne, the current president of the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce, died on Monday.



According to a news release from the Board of Directors, Payne had a heart attack Sunday evening. He went into emergency surgery, but even after surgery doctors were unable to save him. He was 47 years old.



No further information is available at this time.



Payne was elected to the president in December. He is the past president of the North Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives Association, and served as a past board member for TCCE, past president of Saginaw Kiwanis Club, and vice president and public relations for Northwest Tarrant Toastmasters. He has served on boards and committees for local school districts including Education Foundation, Career and Technology, Business Advisory, and District Improvement Council.



The scheduled luncheon on March 5 has been cancelled.
