Kelsey-Seybold Clinic patients will have access to medical care at a new facility in Shenandoah when the clinic opens to patients in December.
Clinic administrator Pamela Bilnoski said the facility features more space to support growing health care demand in the area and includes room for future expansion.
"We have pretty much fully utilized our space in the [current] location," Bilnoski said. "With The Woodlands growing like it is, in order to better serve our patients, we decided it was the time to make a move."
When it opens Dec. 15, the clinic will offer lab and radiology services, imaging services, immunization, hearing and vision screening, drug screen testing, corporate medicine, patient and diabetic education, nutritional services and allergy injections.
Eventually, the clinic will offer CT scan imaging, MRI, 3-D mammography and long-length imaging, along with other specialties that are still in the evaluation stages, Bilnoski said.
"We continue to evaluate and look at other specialties," Bilnoski said. "We have plans to include neurology, optometry, podiatry, rheumatology and urology over the next few years. When we planned this move we developed a five-year plan to determine what specialties needed to be included to better serve our patients."
Unlike other services, though, the clinic's obstetrics and gynecology department will remain at its current location at St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital.
"Our OBGYN department will be staying," Bilnoski said. "Their lease is not up yet, and it is a great location because they are attached to the [St. Luke's] hospital. It is a great location for deliveries."
The clinic will open in Vision Park in Shenandoah, which features medical offices and office suites, and is located south of the St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital.
