Local business Smile Creations is offering some free services for U.S. military veterans throughout November.

Registered Dental Assistant Sara Reynolds said the owner of the dentistry practice, John Calvert, decided to provide free consultation, exams and X-rays to veterans all month in recognition of Veteran's Day, which is Nov. 11.

Reynolds said some staff members have family and friends who are veterans or are currently serving in the military.

"Everyday life, it's so completely different than what they have to deal with daily over there that even the simplest things, like going to a dental exam, are overlooked," she said. "... If we can do something like this where we can offer something for them to make it easier for them to come in and see us and take care of their health [then we will]."

The practice is located at 3022 W. Slaughter Lane.
